This little cafe is tucked away in Desford just off Leicester Lane. It is off a dirt track that you have to drive on for about a minute before you get to a set of gates and the cafe is on the left.
I stumbled across it on Facebook and booked myself on to the Glass Fuse tree decorations class.
I fell in love with the Tearoom as soon as I walked in. It sure is Vintage. Tanya the owner was welcoming and was festively dressed.
The class was £25 and is about 3 hours. All tuition and materials are included. When you first get there you get a complimentary hot drink and cake of your choice. This gives you a chance to socialise with the others in the group.
Kat Christou handmade glass ran the class. We got to make three decorations.
She showed us the different techniques, explained the processes and then let us get on with the decorations. She was there to help and advice through out. Tanya joined in too so it was a relaxed, informal class.
Kat had brought along all the pre cut glass for the decorations but we were able to have a go at cutting glass for the tree trunk and melting string glass to form different shapes.
The decorations were ready in a week and I loved all of them.
It was a lovely evening and I am looking forward to attending more classes. As well as that I am definitely going to be paying the cafe more visits to have some of their delicious cakes and drinks.
Tanya makes all her cakes at the cafe so it’s homemade.
She is welcoming and makes customers feel at home.
Tanya takes pride in her presentation too and doesn’t rush the order. It definitely feels like a local family tearoom and has a good vintage vibe.
If you love cakes, tea, craft and vintage get down to Hollows Farm Vintage Tearoom.
Check out Tanya’s Facebook page for future events. Her website has basic information too.
