The latest Leicester blogger social was held at Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms.
A tea room that serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms has been owed by the same family for over 40 years.
Located on one of Leicester’s historic lanes, Loseby Lane, the tea room was known as Ye Olde Tea Shoppe until it was refurbished in 1982. Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms still retains a sense of history and uniqueness. It has a courtyard too tucked away in the back and perfect for those sunny days.
Whether you want a substantial home cooked meal or a slice of cake, the tea room has it all. The portion sizes are generous ,especially on brunch items and prices are competitive. I have tried their salads and brunch and have nothing but praise for them.
On the afternoon of the blogger social we had a mixture of cream teas and afternoon tea.
Afternoon Tea starts at £8.95. You get to pick from a selection of sandwich choices and chose your bread too.
I went for the duck confit sandwich on brown bread. It was so tasty and well filled sandwich. It doesn’t look that appetising on the photo but it sure was delicious.
There was a good selection of cakes to delivered on the top tier, including macaron, cupcake and a meringue.
The scones were prepared for us beforehand so the debate on whether the jam or cream went first didn’t have to happen. Each scone was lathered with clotted cream, jam and half a strawberry all with a dusting of icing sugar.
It was a lovely afternoon … tea, scones, photos and a natter with fellow bloggers is bound to be a good social.
