East Street Lanes opened its doors to the public on Thursday 22nd August 2019. The venue is a perfect addition to Leicester’s leisure scene and makes a great addition to the great places Steamin’ Billy, a Leicestershire based company, have opened (Caddy Shackers & Club 180 Darts).
The Venue
I love the layout and decor at East Street Lanes. Floral walls and neon signs are dotted around the venue giving it a warm feel. There are definitely Instagram worthy spots here.
Staff are dressed in pretty Hawaiian shirts adding more colour to the venue which is generally low lit and has a cosy feel. All staff I came across on the evening were upbeat, knowledgeable and happy to help despite the busy trade level on the press night.
If you are wearing trainers you don’t need to change your shoes for bowling ones (something I am so happy about). There is a cute seat for those who need to.
Under 18’s are allowed at East Street Lanes before 7pm and must be supervised by an adult over 21. A perfect day venue for family fun.
Bowling Alley
There are 8 Brunswick lanes and each lane can take a team of 6.
Each lane has a comfy seating area. Service is available at the lanes too with just a press of a button.
Games Arcade
East Street Lanes has a games arcade too which is well laid out at the back of the venue and has the retro classics and a pool table. I enjoyed a car game and it was only £1 a go.
Food and Drink
They have a range of food including burgers, pizzas and sharing platters. I only managed to sample some of their pizza which was rather nice. I do want to return for their burgers because the menu online looks amazing.
Drinks include craft beer, cocktails, mocktails, shakes and much more. We tried the Canned Heat, Strawberry Bowler and a couple of their mocktails.
East Street Lanes offers’ packages too. A standard bowling game starts at £8.95 (£7.95 for under 18’s). My favourite package (which I am going to return for soon) is the breakfast bowl: A drink, a game of bowling and a breakfast pizza or healthy option for £19 per person between 10:00 and 12:00 midday on Saturday & Sunday.
East Street Lanes is somewhere you can Eat, Drink and Play. The style of the venue means you can do all or either. They are also taking booking for parties, big or small. They have a room that caters for 200 people.

What an awesome place to hang out with friends and enjoy a good game of bowling. If I only lived close, I would be there with my friends every weekend. The food looks great too!

This place looks really cool! We have an awesome bowling/arcade place near us but they aren’t nearly as cool because they don’t wear Hawaiian shirts!
