Baked Oats

Want a substantial breakfast yet a healthy one? Well I have some delicious baked oats recipes for you to try out.

The joy about these baked oats is you can add on nuts, fruits & flavours you want. My most recent one was an Indian one inspired by barfis and gulab jamans. All the yummy flavours minus the ghee and sugar.

Baked Oats Recipes

I have also made a vegan one after someone requested one on Pinterest. Instead of an egg I used flaxseed. I put in a banana to this one too for that softness.

Baked oats are best enjoyed when they are warm. If you find this portion too much for one day, cover and leave the one half in the fridge and warm it up the next day.

You can enjoy the baked oats on their own (it tastes like warm cake), or with some yoghurt and fruit. If you find it too dry you can pour some milk on top too.

With all the baked oats recipes below, I bake them for about 10-20 minutes. I personally think after 10 minutes they are ready but if you like it more cooked and cake like you just increase the baking time.

Smore’s Baked Oats

  • 75 g oats
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp coffee
  • 1 egg
  • 70 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (or 1 tbsp if you want it less sweet)
  • Dark Chocolate chips (topping)
  • Flaked Almonds (optional)
  • Marshmallow (optional)

  • Blitz the ingredients together (apart from the chocolate chips, almond & marshmallow)
  • Place in a lined oven proof dish and bake at 190 for 10 minutes
  • I added marshmallow to give it that s’mores effect. You can omit this for a healthier version

No Egg Pear Baked Oats

  • 70g oats
  • 80ml milk (for vegan version use dairy free milk)
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed mixed with 2.5tbsp water (make this about 15 mins beforehand so it becomes gloopy)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Pear
  • Chocolate chips
  • Flaked almonds
  • Chocolate sauce (I used Sweet Freedom)

  • Blitz together all ingredients up until the pear in a nutribullet or equivalent
  • Slice a pear and place this into a small oven proof dish (15cm).
  • Pour the blitzed oat mixture onto this.
  • Sprinkle some dark chocolate drops and flakes almonds.
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 190 degrees
  • Drizzle chocolate sauce

Barfi aka Indian Baked Oats

  • 75g oats
  • About 6 nuts (pistachio & almond) plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 70g milk
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg

For Drizzle

• 1 tablespoon honey and a few saffron strands

  • Blitz the first lot of ingredients then pour into a lined baking dish. Bake at 190 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • In the meantime warm the honey with the saffron
  • Pour this over the freshly baked oats (while they are hot). Sprinkle more nuts.
  • Let this soak for a couple of minutes then tuck in.

Hope you get to try these baked oats and enjoy them as much as I do. They are so easy to make and they sure do create the yummiest breakfasts. If you have any questions just drop me a message via the contact form or through my social media channels.
