Chef Krishnapal’s concept is refreshingly simple yet bold – offering customers the best of both worlds. Whether you’re yearning for hearty pub classics in a countryside pub or craving the authentic punchy spices of India, The Falcon at Hatton delivers. The Falcon at Hatton Traditional Pub Meets Indian Cuisine
Drawing inspiration from the “dhabas” of India which are normally located on highways, Falcon at Hatton, along with Marquees of Exeter, presents a dining experience where guests can indulge in familiar pub classics as well as Indian cuisine whilst on the way to their next destination.
The prices are competitive, and quality is not compromised. The menu features a tantalizing array of dishes, each crafted to deliver dishes that will make you want to come back for more. This is evident with the returning locals at both the locations.
I am a fan of chef Krishnapals cuisine since I tried it at 1947 London therefore it was a no brainer for me to have the Indian options on the menu. What I love about the menu is it contains dishes I would not normally make at home. The Indian Menu is available Monday to Saturday. On Sundays they serve Sunday Roasts, and this is very popular with over 100 covers each week.

Food
Here is what we had on our recent visit:
Starters
- Sriracha Flaming Salmon (£15.00): Flaky salmon coated sweet & chilli spices and finished off with whiskey flambe. You cannot taste whiskey but it finishes off the dish really well and has awow factor
- Rasgulla Chaat (£8.50): A surprising starter that combines the softness of Rasgulla with the zest of chaat spices, resulting in an explosion of flavours. Rasgulla is normally enjoyed sweet but they been creative and turned it into a savoury dish.
- Falcon’s Tandoori Avocado (£9.50): A wild card that paid off well, where creamy avocado meets the bold flavours of mustard oil, secret spices, and a zesty squeeze of lemon – a dish worth trying and recreating at home. The quick tandoor finish gives it a slight char.
Mains
- Chef’s Special Lamb with a Twist (£19.00): Tender lamb bathed in a tomato-based gravy with a hint of juniper berries from a sneaky splash of gin, delivering a curry experience that’s as unexpected as it is satisfying.
- Malvani Chicken Curry (£16.00): A spicy sensation straight from Maharashtra, bursting with Malvani spices and coconut paste, leaving taste buds tingling in all the right ways. The chicken was also cooked to perfection.
Served alongside freshly baked Cheese & Garlic Naan, a no-frills Indian Green Salad, creamy Raita with juicy pomegranate seeds, and fragrant Pulao Rice, our main meal was delightful and left us in a food coma. However there is always room for dessert..
Desserts:
- Pistachio Kulfi served in the traditional pots. These pots took me back to my childhood. They used to be a treat and the kulfi tasted just like I remembered it. The colour wasn’t quite pistachio but the flavour was spot on.
- Gulab Jamun: two warm Gulab jamuns served in a martini glass with a vanilla bean ice cream and chopped strawberries. It was as tasty as we expected it to be.
Drinks
The bar staff at The Falcon try and create different cocktails, in addition to the classics. While the food steals the spotlight, Falcon’s signature cocktails are worth a try. I had the Falcon’s Herb Garden, a refreshing medley of gin, elderflower, cucumber, rosemary, lime, and lemon. Priced at £9.95
As it is a pub expect beer on tap, several spirits, wine and more.
Beyond the Plate
The country pub welcomes furry friends and offers various seating options including has a covered outdoor tent, outdoor area with pub benches and three pods available to hire for that special treat. The interiors are a combination of modern and rustic with part of the pubs originals 18th century architecture still there.
For those seeking to extend their stay, the venue offers eight basic rooms. They offer breakfast too.

Situated just a short drive from Warwick city centre, Falcon at Hatton provides easy access to picturesque walking routes, including the Haseley Walk. On a summer’s evening after a lush meal, this would be ideal.
Our dining experience at Falcon at Hatton was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the passion and dedication of Chef Krishnapal Negi and his team. Thanks to Prasana and the team for looking after us. We will certainly be back soon.
Want another Indian style pub in the country? The Marquees of Exeter is located in Lyddinton next to Oakham and I highly recommend that.
