Leicester had a newbie in town. The inspiration behind Orton’s Brasserie came from Leicester born playwright Joe Orton.
Whilst the restaurant is working on opening (and I am eagerly waiting for the day I can eat inside a restaurant), they have been very creative and started a delivery service, Joe’s by Orton’s.
Located opposite the Curve Theatre in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, Joe’s is concentrating on delivering Brunches to start with. Guy Kersey, Owner of Orton’s Brasserie, said of all the meals out that people were missing the most, Brunch was by far the biggest.
The head chef is Justin Akpa who launched his popular street food takeaway brand Plukd so you know the food is going to be full of flavour and made to perfection at Joe’s.
Joe’s by Orton’s have put thought into their menu and how they are packing the food, ensuring sauces are kept separate and containers retain as much heat as possible to deliver that perfect Brunch. There is something for everyone.
I recently received a delicious delivery from Joe’s (gifted). I live 19 minutes drive from town and the food was still at the correct consistency and texture when I received it.
I opted for their Fish & Grains Box. It came in a recyclable box which made a nice change to plastic containers. Hot smoked salmon on a bed of wholesome Quinoa & Tahini served with mixed greens, a tangy dill infused yoghurt and a soft boiled egg. A perfect compiled box with a great variety of textures and flavours.
The portion was generous and the ingredients were fresh tasting and at £8.50 great value for money.
They also offer a selection of smoothies and fruit juices alongside a curated cocktail menu. I went for a Boozy Brunch and added in Mimosa. I love how this was delivered too. The juice came separately with a bottle of fizz. It made the experience at home better because I could pour it myself and the drink was not flat when I received it. A mimosa box (4 servings is available for £20).
So for all those Brunch lovers in Leicester, get ordering because Joe’s will be delivering you a treat that will give you that Brunch fix. You can order your takeaway via JustEat and EatMe from 10 am – 4 pm Wednesday to Sunday.
