Instructions
How to make chocolate brownies
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celcius. Line an 8x8 baking tray.
Melt butter. I use Bain Marie method. You can melt it in a stainless steel pan. Add in the dark chocolate and combine until melted. Let this cool.
Whisk the eggs and then add in both sugars and whisk again until airy and pale in colour.
To the chocolate mixture add in cocoa powder, plain flour, vanilla essence and salt and combine well.
Pour this chocolate into the egg mixture and fold it together. Try not to over mix.
Pour this into your prepared baking tray. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
Leave the brownie in the pan and make your rice crispies topping.
How to make chocolate rice krispie treats
Melt chocolate in a large bowl. Add in the peanut butter and combine.
Place a layer of this mixture on the brownie mix.
Now add the melted chocolate rice crispies and mix.
Assembling the rice krispie layered brownie
Spread this on top of the brownie. Press it firmly so there is no air pockets.
Chill for at least 3 hours. Cut with a sharp knife.
